We were contacted by our client who was looking for a simple, warm house for her retirement life. She had a set of plans which she purchased online and after a few conversations we made some adjustments to the design which suited her style and went to work. One of the more significant changes we made to the plan is something never seen. We added 2” rigid insulation under the entire slab, upgraded the wall insulation to high density fiberglass insulation with 2” rigid insulation on the exterior. We applied an air barrier on the walls and ceiling and taped all the seams. With all wall penetrations sealed and caulking applied to all material transitions we ended up with a home that is warm, quiet with no unwanted air intrusion. Nice clean finishes and a generous wrap around Portal compliment all the attention to detail inside and out. This is a perfectly sized house for a very happy client.
